USPA NEWS - The RCMP stated that a recent search for the missing Sullivan children produced items that were not considered relevant. The Sullivan children were reported missing by their mother, Malehya Brooks-Murray, on May 2nd, 2025, from their home in Lansdowne Station, Nova Scotia.

Although potentially disappointing, search organizer Nick Oldrieve notes that even a negative search result still holds value. “If you’re looking for a missing person, you got to be used to striking out more times than you have successes. Lack of evidence is evidence in itself. So if you walk away from an area not finding anything, it’s still progress.”
Oldrieve operates Please Bring Me Home, an Ontario-based non-profit organization that has been instrumental in locating 50 people across Canada. He states that Belynda Gray, the paternal grandmother of the children, initially reached out to him to lead a search.

A comprehensive search of the heavily wooded area adjacent to the residence has been carried out several times over the past few months, including a search by a team of specially trained cadaver dogs in October. Oldrieve directed a search effort on Saturday, November 15th, with 32 volunteers, focusing primarily on the Middle River of Pictou. He stated that several individuals with prior experience participated, including a retired military member with eight years of ground search and rescue experience.
Oldrieve states that the search parties divided into groups of six and maintained detailed records of their search areas and the coordinates of any discovered items, which he is compiling for submission to the RCMP.

According to Oldrieve, the mood is somber, despite the searchers' optimism about finding something useful. "It's heartbreaking," noting that searching for children missing for an extended period can be difficult, as they may be looking for human remains.
Oldrieve reiterated his positive assessment of the previous searches, stating that he was particularly impressed. He notes that, based on the number of tags and ribbons marking the area, he is increasingly skeptical that the children wandered into the woods. “I am at a loss to explain where they could have been missed.” A plausible explanation is that the children fell into the water.
Oldrieve concluded by stating that the Please Bring Me Home team planned to conduct another search before the weather turned and made conditions too difficult. Everyone desperately wants Jack and Lily found .
